Now that the striper tournament is in full gear, it’s time to start thinking about your favorite angler for Christmas. By far, the gifts that most prefer are gift cards (unless you have a list with exact product and sizes) Although everything is returnable.
Also, I would like to mention that the flea market in the Spring is a great way to turn some old equipment into money. When packing and storing make a box for the equipment no longer needed. The date for this year’s event is April 5th.
The pictures and standings for the tournament are posted at Irish Eyes on Friday night and daily on our Facebook page.
WGMD is broadcasting live every Friday from 3 pm till 6 pm at Irish Eyes until the end of the tournament. The Sports Talk Show with Captains Bill and Mike joining the Bill Colley Show from 5 to 6 at Irish Eyes.
>> ”Bill, You met Bill Nickum several weeks ago when we stopped by to purchase bait. He & I were at a private pond outside of Preston, Md where we landed five big mouth bass. The largest caught was about 20" & approximately 6-7 lbs. I have picture. My Kathy & I are leaving on a cruise tomorrow for 8 days so see you at church toward the middle of the month. Marty Barrett”
>> ”Giving you my report from further south. I've been on Hatteras the last week and the puppy drum bite has been something else. It's been blowing every day, so finding a fish able location has been tough but when we do the fishing has been great…5 puppy drum, all between 23 and 25”, 6 bluefish over 13 went to the smoker, and dozens of other smaller fish not keepers, flounder, snappers, kingfish, blow toads, croaker, and spot. Hope we find the same up north when we return home. Walt Clark”

>> We have been hearing reports for the last couple weeks of 4 to 6” blues being caught along the beach. Hopefully, some bigger ones will eventually show up.
>> Word on the internet is that 2 weeks ago, big striper were being caught off Atlantic City, and early last week off of Wildwood N.J. Any day now! Today could be the day.

>> Fishing Report by Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, OC “The Water Temp is 58.8. The tautog bite is still going on! The flounder bite is pretty much over. Some stripers are being caught around the Route 50 Bridge on live eels or lures. Route 90 has seen some striper action. The reports from the surf were "hit or miss". We had a few reports of some puppy drum over the weekend. Earlier in the week we heard of a couple keeper stripers. Dogfish and skates were also around. Sea bass are biting offshore.
