>> For those waiting for news of our Fall Striper Tournament the date has been set. It will run from Oct. 21st with awards being given on Dec. 2nd. On Friday nights during the tournament, Irish Eyes will have a free buffet and many door prizes will be awarded.
>> Some of these reports were given before the storm.
>> Mike Rutt fished the Lewes Canal catching 3 flounder up to 17” on Gulp and squid.
>> Bob Ambrose, Connecticut, fished with Jack Brzoska, Angola, drifting IRI with Gulp and minnows and limited out on flounder up to 3.75#.
>> Nick and Mark caught 35 croaker, 8 mahi, 1 flounder and 1 keeper sea trout at Site 10. They had a wonderful day using pre rigged bally.
>> Customers are telling us they are getting a lot of fish at Gordon’s’ Pond hitting the drop off 35 to 40 yards out.
>> Customer from Easton was fishing Cape Henelopen and hooked up with a 24” striper on soft crab.
>> Lots of shad in the IRI being caught on small spoons. There were so many that the customer said his arms were ready to fall off.
>> A customer stopped in and told us he was fishing in Rehoboth Bay and caught many undersized weakfish yesterday using squid and bloodworms.
>> Stretches of ocean beach between Gordon’s Pond and Herring Point and beachfront along the Oceanside of The Point on Cape Henlopen have now reopened following the end of a piping plover nesting season that produced 13 plover fledglings in Delaware.
Reminder, slot striper closes in the Bay and estuaries, 28 to 37” or 44” and greater.
