>> Bill's Sport Shop and Irish Eyes Restaurant Striper Tournament is October 22nd to December 2nd. Sign ups available in local businesses, at Bill's and on Bills Face Book page. On Friday nights during the tournament, Irish Eyes will have a free buffet and door prizes will be awarded each Friday night.
FISHING REPORT
>> We’re getting reports of constant blue action on the bay side of the Point, but the larger blues are on the ocean side.
>> People are coming in for bunker for their pots are telling us that they are getting 50 or so crabs (keepers) in their 4 pots and they are full of meat.
>> Steve Boldman stopped in to let us know he was surf fishing off Dewey Beach just before dark last night. Using a whole mullet rig, caught a 29” striper along with some kingfish and small blue fish.
>> Drew Stuchlik caught and released a 50" red drum at Cape Henlopen on his anniversary.
>> Chris Mal caught 5 stripers on Storm Lures and Tsunamies in Rehoboth Bay.
>> Eric Kinne and Roger Elliott caught 30 stripers to 18” on bloodworms and squid in the Lewes Canal.
>> The fishing pier was giving up small blues on bunker and a 17” flounder also came over the rails.
>> Even though 3R’s Rd. was closed for drive-on, a few people walked to the surf and said it was a phenomenal day of catching stripers all day long on cut mullet. The largest was about 20” with some blues thrown in.
>> Fishing off the bulkhead in OC, a customer told us they caught 15 tog but only 1 keeper.
>> The Grattons were catching small stripers in Milford by the old Marina using Mirrolures till a 10 to 15 pounder took it for a souvenir.
>> A couple staying in Dewey fished the beach all day and had a lot of smaller blues on mullet. He was using a whole mullet rig and said they kept coming back without their tails. He said he went through a lot of mullet.
>> Our ice man said he was fishing IRI on the incoming tide and hooked up with a 30” striper.
>> Chris Mal fishing in the back bays off of Pier Point Marina using Gulp, caught lots of small stripers with the largest a little over 20”.
>> Janet Kinney, Lewes, took some minnows up to the Broadkill and caught 4 nice catfish up to 6#.
>> DeVaughn and James stopped in tonight and informed us that they caught numerous short stripers and blue fish at CHSP ocean front by the Point today using cut mullet.
>> They have been catching keeper tog and sheepshead on the Outerwall, wrecks and IRI on green crabs and sand fleas.
