>> The deadline for sign ups for the Bill's Sport Shop and Irish Eyes Restaurant Striper Tournament is Friday, October 21st. Sign ups available in local businesses, at Bill's and on Bills Face Book page. On Friday nights during the tournament, Irish Eyes will have a free buffet and door prizes will be awarded each Friday night.
>> The charter boat "Marli" is still at it. Today Capt. Mark Hoos took his anglers to just south of the Rockpile, in 70-120 feet of water and they ended up with 18 yellowfin and broke off a wahoo. Capt. Mark said the water temperature was between 69 and 71-degrees. Yellowfin were in the 25-30 lb. range. No other boats were down with them. ( Taken from coastal fisherman’s report).
>> The Outer wall gave up a lot of tog today, with sheepshead in the mix using green crab and sand fleas.
>> Small blues were reported taken at Savages Ditch.
>> A customer was kayaking the Outerwall using green crabs and sand fleas and caught over 20 tog with the largest being 6 ½#.
>> A customer reported 2 citation sheepshead were caught on the Outerwall on fleas.
>> Brian Smith caught a 35”, 16 ¼# striper and a 28”, 9# on top water poppers in the Nanticoke River.
>> A customer fishing the pier said he caught small blues and scoolies…
>> Brandon Alm was fishing the wall and was rewarded with a nice 6# sheepshead.
>> Reports of small stripers being caught on bloods in the Canal.
>> Frank Tackett and group fished the Wall with sand fleas and came away with 4 nice tog up to 5 #. He also had a few on the line when they wisely threw them back as they were checked shortly after that…
>> A couple of nice king fish 13 to 15” were caught on the bay side of the Point.
>> There have been keeper stripers taken in the Canal on cut bait.
>> Keeper flounder are being caught in the back bay of Indian river on minnows..
>> Lots of peanut bunker are being seen at the IRI Marina
>> Gary Charles fishing from the floating dock in the Lewes Canal was using scented squid strips and hooked up with a 29” striper.
>> In accordance with 7 DE Admin. Code 3214, based on recent fishery performance and landings, the Department has established that the horseshoe crab fishery is closed effective 12:01 AM October 15, 2016 to prevent exceeding Delaware’s annual quota allocation. After this date and time, it is unlawful to harvest horseshoe crabs during 2016
>> WHITE CLAY CREEK (Oct. 12, 2016) – The Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife’s Fisheries Section announced today that White Clay Creek has received its annual fall stocking of trout – a DNREC ritual since 2007.The daily possession limit is six trout per person. Fishing in or within 50 feet of the designated fly-fishing-only section, the daily possession limit is four trout.
