Last Friday night was the first social of the 2016 Tournament. Irish Eyes served a great buffet of pork stuffed with apples, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls and dessert. Door prizes were awarded. Over 100 anglers and guests had a great time. It was good to see everyone again after a year off due to the brain thing. (He’s fine now!)
>> Tuesday there were false albacore and blues caught in the IRI.
>> Paul P, Bill Weiss and his buddies fished Savages Ditch and caught small blues, and a kingfish along with skates and sharks using cut bait.
>> Brian Smith, Dover, caught a 15.3 #, 33” striper in the Lewes Canal using a topwater plug.
>> Dan Anderson and his son Brady (infamous for being a BSS youth angler of the week) were fishing at Massey’s Landing and caught some short tog and sea bass along with a sheepshead using razor clams.
>> They are catching lots and lots of short stripers in Indian River Bay and Rehoboth Bay on Storm lures and Tsunamis and plugs.
>> In OC Inlet they are catching lots of stripers with quite a few keeper stripers on storms and Tsunamies.
>> On Assateague Island they have been catching lots of short stripers and a few big red drum
>> Still getting nice crabs off the Love Creek Bridge.
>> Luis Moreno was using green crabs and sand fleas, fished the Wall and said he did fairly well on keeper tog. Once he started to move closer to the light house he said that area seemed to hold the larger tog.
>> Dave Lynam weighed in tournament tog on 10-26-16. The largest was 3.15# along with a 3.11# and a 3.04#.
>> ”John Leader caught a bigger tog today than yesterday's fish. This fish tipped the scale at 11.81 lbs and is the new first place fish. John is also in second place with the 7.58 lb fish he checked in yesterday. There are six more days of the tournament. (taken from Lewes Harbor Marina facebook page.)”
>> Crabbing season closes Nov. 30th for pots.

>> Bill's Sport Shop and Irish Eyes Restaurant Striper Tournament is October 22nd to December 2nd.
