Bill's has a complete line of crabbing supplies for the avid crabber, including commercial trot lines already snooded, in several sizes. We also have crabbing monster nets, reach poles, gloves, lead lines as well as crab spices.
Seasonal closure for tautog will begin May 12. Seabass will reopen May 22.
Bill's Sport Shop Spring Flounder Tournament
Registration is open to all and participants may register at the store or on line from now until May 13th. The tournament runs from May 13 till June 10th. The entry fee is $35.00. First place prize is $500.00, second place, $250.00 and third place, $100.00.
> >Kevin Stoltzfus stopped in to report that he caught a 42", 22 1/2 lb striper off the beach at Fenwick Island fresh bunker.
> > Eva Morgans went back to White Clay Creek again for a couple days and let us know that she caught several nice size trout, average about 2 to 3 pounds. She saw some nice browns and rainbows caught. The trip was definitely worth it. She is going back up in October when they stock the creek again.
> >Rich Felton of Wyoming, De, caught a 43", 26.8 lb striper at Herring Point in CHSP on bunker chunks.
> >Capt. Chuck Cook of "First Light Charters" went out with Chris Blesoe to the DE Bay and came back with 2 stripers at 37 1/2 and 34" using plugs.
> >Aaron Mullis of Baltimore caught a 19.1 lb, 39" striper on fresh bunker at Rehoboth.
> >Mike Rivera of "On Delivery Charters" called from an Ocean Site to report that he was having a good day of tog fishing and that some of the tog were big and he expected that they would all limit out by days end.
> >Craig Brungard from Camp Hill, PA., boated a 7.35 lb, 22 1/2" tog on green crabs at the Outer Wall.
> >Trevor Dodge Sr. and Jr., along with Richard Hooper limited out on tog at the Wall on green crabs and Trevor Jr. also had a 35lb black drum aboard the Grizzley.
> >Buctail Bob reported his limit of tautog at the Outer Wall using green crabs.
> >Rich Johnson of Felton DE. came in with 3 keeper flounders out of IRI taken on a bucktail with the largest being a 23 1/4" 4.70 pounder.
> >Tim Milnes, of Downingtown, PA, came in with pictures from last night's fishing trip at IRI. He said that the stripers came in about 1 am and stayed till about 3. Everyone limited out with stripers up to 43" on golden mullet, eels.....
> >Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, reports that the water temperature is (WTMP): 57.9 °F°. Some really big stripers were weighed in this week from the surf and the bay in Ocean City. Flounder are biting. Cod offshore again, along with some big tautog. The first of the black drum fish arrived last week and there have been a few caught hook and line as well. Seabass will reopen for Ocean City May 22 this month.
Boating Safety Classes
The list of the Boating Safety Classes our Flotilla has set up for this year provided by Bob Adams: June 11, Gull's Way Campground, Dagsboro, DE; June 18, Tuckahoe Campground, Dagsboro, DE. All classes run from 8:00am until 4:00pm. and are all the Delaware State Boating Course.... required for all boaters born on or after Jan 1, 1978. The cost is $10.00 per person. Anyone interested in registering for any of these courses can contact Bob Adams at 302-541-4038.
