> >Anglers fish free in Delaware waters June 11 and 12 to celebrate National Fishing Week. June 4 to 12, the Division of Fish and Wildlife invite anglers to test their favorite waters for clamming, crabbing and fishing for free on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12. Although they will not need a license, they still must obtain a fisherman identification network number.
> >Colin Mccann of West Bay Park, caught a 23.5", 4.17# flounder at Massey’s Ditch on a black bucktail with pink Gulp!
> >Jim Jones was out at the Wilmington and had 5 yellowfins along with 1 bluefin and 4 gaffer dolphins he also added that he came away with a lot of shark bait.
> >Bill Jr, Ellen White, Capt Bill Baker and hs grandson, Joey Neely went to Masseys Canyon and boated 8 bluefish and 2 false albacore. The crew is looking forward to a Father's Day mako trip.
> >Received an email: "Hey its Eva Morgans from Lewes, we went fishing at the IRI off the rocks this past weekend and burnt the flounder up - caught a total of 10 fish between Sat and Sun. Had 4 keepers averaged 20" to 21", 3 to 4#. Caught some on minows and some on white Gulp. jigging. The flattiess are nice and thick ........"
> >Cody Shirk of Grantville, Pa, fished the south side of IRI using Calcutta Flashfoils and came away with 16.55#, 37” striper.
> >Capt. Dave Russell of "Miss Shyanne Charters" took a school trip of 8th graders from Gap, Pa. drum fishing and came back with 4 drum up to 35#. He let us know that drum fishing at night has been hot, and he still has open dates.
> >Captain Michael Davidson runs the "G Force" and went to the Washington Canyon and kept a 190# mako and 85# bluefin tuna and also released a hammerhead shark. He said the there were no yellowfin tuna to be found on Saturday. His new bang stick that he bought at Bills Sport Shop worked great.
> >Mike Rivera, "On Delivery Charters” went on an overnighter to the canyons and landed yellowfin tuna and gaffer dolphin. He says they had the monster mako on but lost it.
> >Jon Kitchen, Lewes, Brett Reichard, Pa., Austin Kitchen, Lewes and Tim Mazol, Pa. let us know that they "got their butts kicked" on the way to the Wilmington on Sat. Once there, it took 5 minutes to find the skippies. They never got the entire spread out for 90 minutes. They landed 18 skippies and 4 mahi to 13.5#.
> >Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, emailed us with an OC report: " Water Temperature (WTMP): 68.7 °F° , A few stripers and drum were still caught in the surf, more blues and kingfish, croakers, skates and some nice sharks. There were two stories of huge fish that drug the surf rods in the water out of the sand spikes! Good flounder bite this week. Stripers were in the inlet. Big drum in the Delaware Bay. Sea bass season is open and anglers are catching them offshore along with some tog and some codfish! Bridge fishing has been good, and Oceanic Pier had keeper stripers this week"
> >Captain Carey Evans, "Grizzley Sport Fishing Charters" out of Fishermans Wharf in Lewes, reported that drum fishing results have been mixed with as many as nine fish on a high trip to one skunk in between. Fish have ranged in size from 25 to 65 pounds. He also had some seabass and some nice codfish up to 7 lbs in the mix. Jim Rice harvested our largest seabass of the year so far weighing 5.2l#.
> >Bob Scharmer caught a BSS tournament flounder at 5.25# and 21.5" to take over 1st place.
