Striper slot season opened Friday (7/1) in the Delaware Bay and its tributaries. Anglers can catch 2 fish between 20 and 26 inches only.
Tau Tog season opened July 1st until August 31st. The size limit is 14" or greater and you may keep 10 per angler per day. Bill's Sport Shop will carry a complete line of baits and tackle, Including green crabs and sand fleas.
We have a large selection of crabbing supplies including trot lines.
> >Ed Lewandowski reports an offshore trip aboard the "Reel Dreams" with his father (Ed Lewandowski, Sr.), Capt. Ron Savidge and his son Steve. to Massey's where they put a 45# bluefin in the box within the first 30 mins. They picked up just as the rain started and ran southeast towards the tip of the Baltimore. Found 75 degree water on the west wall and had a couple of knockdowns soon after they got the baits in the water, but lost the fish. Eventually hooked up on a couple skipjack tuna and a small yellowfin within the first 20 mins.

> >Bucktail Bob nailed 2 slot stripers on sand fleas and 5 keeper tog at the Outer Wall using green crabs.
> >Michael Davidson aboard the "Outlet" fished the Baltimore Canyon and limited out on yellowfin, five white marlin and a bunch of dolphin. He also released a large shark.
> >Richie Goodman, two Tony's and David went to the Inner Wall and came away with 20 tog in 2 hours. The largest weighed in at 6.25#, 23” All were caught on green crabs.
> >Captain Aaron Hurd runs "Gale Force Charters" at the Indian River Inlet and he reported that a Lancaster Pa family caught 6 keeper flounder on one trip and that The Weingold family landed 5 keeper flounder on another trip. Capt Aaron also runs "In Shore Charters" and will also be targeting tau tog and striper trips at the near shore reef sites.

> >We received an email from David Koster, CPP, Portraits in the Sand: "Happy 4th! I was photographing some families this weekend at 3r's and saw someone catch a flounder surf fishing. Then last night a nice catch and release from these guys! Kayak surf fishing on the south side of the Indian River Inlet at 3R's....I think they just use the kayak to take the line way off shore, then reel in from the beach....they may drop some chum out there to attract them too. Sorry I didn't catch their names but they were too busy..."

> >Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, sent us her weekly report for those fishing below the IRI: "The water temperature (WTMP): is 76.5 and is down right warm. Anglers are catching a good amount of flounder but searching for keepers. Some lucky anglers are doing pretty good. There's lots of action with small flounder, croaker, and Norfolk Spot in the bay. There's snapper blues around the Inlet and Route 50 Bridge along with some striper action. The surf is seeing Norfolk spot, along with some croaker, kingfish, small trout, snapper blues, flounder, huge rays, skates and sharks. Quite a few large sharks were reported. Sea bass are biting offshore, with catches of cod, triggerfish and more flounder. Oceanic Pier has had a good run of flounder by day mixed in with some croaker action. Shad, croaker and blues are biting at night from the pier. Offshore, still good tuna fishing..."
