>From Captain Carey Evans, Grizzley sport fishing charters

After having a slower month in September we are off to the races here in early October. Tog fishing has already shown some good results along with some triggerfish and sheepshead to keep things interesting. Tog fishing should do nothing but improve as the waters cool this month. Striper fishing will be right around the corner as well

>> Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, reported a picture perfect Columbus Day Weekend. Not much wind, warm, and fairly clear water. There were tons of snapper blues in the surf.... Flounder fishing was really good... The tautog bite is on! Stripers are starting to hit from the Route 50 Bridge at night. Some spike sea trout are about. And sea bass, triggerfish, and tautog are good offshore
