>> Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, sent us her report: "Fishing...Well, It's probably going to be a short fish report this week. The wind blew, and then the wind blew some more. And then it rained! Cold weather moved in as well. But that might be a good thing for fishing. Hopefully, we'll get some stripers moving soon! Sea bass opens back up Nov 1st, and anglers in Ocean City will be able to keep 4 tautog as well. Flounder in MD remains open until the end of November. All we need is "please" just some kinder weather. Cool is OK, but the wind has not been our friend".

Ponds stocked with trout

Fishermen, listen up: DNRECís Fisheries Section has announced that 2 ponds have been stocked with trout. Volunteers and fisheries staffers stocked Newton Pond near Greenwood and White Clay Creek upstate last week. Newton Pond was stocked with 200 pounds of trout, while White Clay Creek was stocked with half a ton of rainbow trout. The average size of the trout is 11 inches. DNREC officials say they donít typically publicize the exact date of the Fall trout stocking like they do in the Spring, but say this will allow fisherman to have their favorite spots to themselves for the most part, and since trout are a coldwater fish, anglers will have plenty of action this winter.

> Sea Bass is now open.
> Flounder closes 10/24 through 12/31
