Bill's Sport Shop and Irish Eyes Restaurant Tournament

We're half-way through Irish Eyes/Bill's Sport Shop Tournament. Anglers and their guests are enjoying delicious food, lively conversation and the many door prizes given out each week.

Available by special order, are extra tee shirts, long sleeve tee shirts, sweat shirts and hoodies. Stop by the store, pick up an order form Friday night.

The final Calcutta is worth $1750.00.

Final Tog is: 1st place - $612.50, 2nd place - $367.50 and 3rd place is worth $245.00.

Fishing News

>> Kris Battaglini caught a 20.3#, 38.5" tournament striper.
>> Dave Kemper weighed in a 25.5#, 38.25" tournament striper.
>> Bucktail Bob brought in a 7.20#, 22.75" tournament tog with a girth of 14".
>> Capt. Skip Mosiej called to report that he, Luke Marks, Big John Lucas, and Steve Lee fished the Haystacks and caught 12 nice tog up to 6 1/2#.
>> Jim Fradiska, York, Pa. caught a 37", 17.75# striper at the IRI on eels.
>> Rich Harpel weighed in a 16# rockfish and fishing mate Gary Chandler weighed in a 18.65# striper caught in the Delaware Bay.
>> Bob Salvatore entered his 21.60#, 41" striper in the tournament.
>> More and more stripers are being brought in to Billís to be entered into our tournament. The leader board is changing, not so much in name, but in size. Evan Falgowski brought in another large striper. This one hit the scales at 37.50# with a 45 3/4" length to take over first and second place - pushing brother Ryan into third place.
>> Frank, Bob, Mike and Tom....All Bailors... caught 2 more bushels of #1 fat crabs at Gull Point with a trot line. He has never crabbed at this time of year...and he is still catching!!!!
>> Joe Noel and Bill Weiss hit the suds at Gordons Pond and even with dirty water; they managed to catch a few ling with small top and bottom rigs tipped with frozen mullet. Moving up to the Point, small stripers were hitting in the cleaner water also on frozen mullet.
>> Joel Nagle, Carl Nagle and Floyd Hershberger caught stripers weighing in at 23.1, 17.50 and 16.90# and measuring 42, 37 and 36". They also caught a blue at 8.3# and 32" off Fenwick using Stretch's with Mike Rivera of "On Delivery".
>> Another entrant in Billís tournament brought in his limit of stripers. Chuck Hazel had stripers up to 30.95# and 45" length with girths of 26".
>> Tammy Parker weighed in another tournament striper today, 36", 18.85#.
>> Sue Foster, Oyster Bay Tackle, let us know that the water temp: 57.7 degrees. "Not the world's greatest weather this past weekend, but a few fish were caught. During the week, we heard of some nice stripers caught, some blues, red hake, and sharks from the surf. Inlets saw some striper action, and of course, tautog. Tautogs were biting at all the usual haunts. Sea bass fishing offshore has been outstanding if you can get out there. Stripers and some big blues have been caught trolling just offshore. If only the wind would quit blowing!"
>> Customers have been reporting stripers in the Valley with multiple hookups on every drift.
>> Jim Healey, Allentown, Pa, caught a 19.5#, 37" striper at the 8's on eels.
>>Received an email from Bill Vernon, Jr.: "Hey Guys, Fished with my work staff here at Hertrichs on Sunday on the charter boat "Katydid" out of Lewes. Even though it was blowing real hard we caught 11 stripers and the biggest weighed in at 29.8 pounds, still hoping to get one on the board as it gets down to crunch time in the tourney. thanks!!


2011 DMS Intra-Club Tournament A highly informal tournament among DMS members- treasured of trophies-BRAGGING RIGHTS! will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 7:00 AM till 3:30 PM. The location will be from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island.
