THE STAFF OF BILLíS SPORT SHOP
18388 Coastal Highway
Lewes, De. 19958
--We have a fun tournament coming up. Just when fishing slows down and tog fishing is closed, there is still a reason to have fun. Bill's Sport Shop is having a "Trash Fish Tournament" which will run from Sept. 1st till the 30th. There will be four categories: Skate, oyster crackers, sea robbins and dogfish. So far, EVERYONE thinks they will win this one!!!! The entry fee will be $5.00 per category and all weigh-ins will be at Bill's. Except for administration fee (pictures, mostly) all monies will be awarded as prizes. Sign-ups till Sept. 15.
--Bill and I (Kathy) are headed to Cape May on Tues., Aug.,17, to see the Guy Harvey Exhibit. We have lots of Guy Harvey items in our store, but I would to see his artwork, posters, and hopefully dog collars, etc... Let you know how we make out next week. Great way to spend our anniversary!
--Dave Tkatch and James Forsyth fished the Old Grounds and Site 11, using shiners and Gulp, boating 5 seabass and 2 keeper flounder over 21 inches.
--Capt. Kenny G on the "Just Right 4", with crew, first mate Laura Johnson, Terry Gray, Skip Mmosiej, Joe Brotman and Dave Majors let us know his catch in the White Marlin Open was 20 to 30 dolphin. He also went on another day and boated a 37 lb wahoo, chunking butter, which just came up 3lbs short of the qualifying weight.
--Capt. Carey Evans, "Grizzly Sportfishing", Lewes, reports flounder fishing remains consistent. Croaker fishing is also good and getting better. Blowfish have been a big hit on many of his recent trips. The crew had some good catch-and-release action with inshore sharks.
--Spot and croaker are bein pulled over the rails at the Pier.
--Surf fishermen are reporting spot, croaker and kingfish in the suds.
--Bluefish are being caught at the IRI on the incoming tide.
